AOP wines

Label of origin: label guaranteeing the quality of the wine. The AOP enforced by the INAO (National Institute for Guaranteed Vintages) intends to define, through various criteria, the best wines of the territory. The wines in each specific area are subject to precise regulations for the following criteria:

• geographic area concerned,

• variety of vine allowed,

• type of cultivation applied (mainly including grape maturity when gathered, size of the vine stocks, and respect of the cultivation methods of the area),

• yield,

• alcoholic contend allowed,

• limitation of the quantity of vine stocks per hectare.
